Reaktor Reinforced PVC Gel Patch 15 ml is a composite cold-repair compound for damaged PVC products and compatible flexible polymers. It contains carbon, para-aramid and polypropylene reinforcing fibres that are distributed throughout the applied layers and strengthen the repaired area.
Compatible materials:
• PVC and PVC-coated technical fabrics;
• neoprene, membrane materials and polyurethane;
• synthetic fabrics and artificial leather.
Not suitable for EVA, polyethylene or PTFE/Teflon.
Applications:
• inflatable boats, small craft, kayaks and rafts;
• pools and inflatable equipment;
• awnings, tents, tarpaulins and polymer coverings;
• fishing boots, waders and overalls;
• sports and specialist footwear;
• neoprene products and wetsuits;
• PVC bags, covers and camping equipment.
Directions:
- Deflate the product and stabilise the damaged area.
- Clean and prepare the surface with Reaktor Activator. Use only an appropriate, pre-tested cleaner on thin or delicate products.
- Shake the tube in different directions for at least 1–2 minutes to distribute the reinforcing fibres.
- Apply several thin coats at 15–30-minute intervals, spreading the gel with the tube nozzle.
- Two or three drops are generally sufficient for a small puncture. Apply two or three thin coats to a cut up to 1 cm long.
- Place polyethylene behind an open cut to prevent the gel from leaking into the inflatable chamber.
According to the manufacturer, limited use may be possible after approximately 30–60 minutes for small punctures and after 2–12 hours or longer for cuts. Actual curing time depends on temperature, damage size and coating thickness. Do not apply full pressure or maximum load before polymerisation is complete.
