KICKER unveiled its new MMC marine coaxial speakers at IBEX 2026 in Tampa, Florida. Planned for 2027, the series sits between the established KM range and the flagship MS line.

Two models are planned: the 6.5-inch (165 mm) 53MMC654 and the 8-inch (200 mm) 53MMC84. Both have a 4 Ω impedance.

According to preliminary information from KICKER / Celsus, features include:

• 25 mm tweeters
• Polypropylene cone and dust cap
• RGBW lighting and an illuminated tweeter ring
• The same type of Amphenol connectors used in the MS series
• Both white and charcoal grilles included

The new models are developed to KICKER’s Real Marine® standards for the marine environment. They will also be shown at METSTRADE in Amsterdam in November.

As of 9 October 2026, pricing and delivery dates for Bulgaria have not yet been confirmed. For help choosing an audio system for your boat, contact Genesis Fishing or explore our KICKER boat audio range.

The wait is over. On 6 October, Minn Kota revealed the next step in its partnership with Humminbird: a fishing system bringing fish finders, mapping, trolling motors and shallow-water anchors together under the Minn Kota brand. Humminbird’s technology continues as Humminbird Imaging.

For anyone fishing from a boat, the idea is easy to picture: find a promising spot on screen, move into position and hold there with fewer controls to juggle. Official source

Meet X Series

The range offers 7-, 9-, 10-, 12- and 16-inch model classes powered by Humminbird Imaging. The largest X16 CMSI+ has a 15.6-inch Full HD display with a 1920 × 1080 resolution. Touchscreen and keypad controls work together, while sonar and connectivity options depend on the configuration. Official source

What changes on the water?

Draw & Navigate lets you draw a route on a compatible screen and have the connected trolling motor follow it.

Intelligent Depth Control monitors depth changes and warns of shallow water. With compatible equipment and the appropriate setup, it can engage Spot-Lock and deploy shallow-water anchors.

Wireless communication between compatible fish finders and trolling motors is another key part of the system. Compatible XPLORE, APEX and SOLIX G3 units, together with 2024-or-newer motors featuring Advanced GPS Navigation, have an update path. The exact hardware and software combination needs checking. New trolling motors: Ultrex and the next generation

The announcement also introduces new generations of Ultrex, Ulterra, Terrova, Riptide Terrova, Riptide Instinct, PowerDrive and Riptide PowerDrive. The available features depend on the exact motor and configuration.

The updated Ultrex offers brushed and QUEST brushless versions, with 45-, 52- and 60-inch shaft options. Minn Kota claims up to 50% tighter Spot-Lock positioning compared with previous Minn Kota models. This is a manufacturer claim, not our own test result. Ultrex: official model information

Planned for early 2027: the new Terrova QUEST and Riptide Terrova QUEST. This is the announced launch plan, not confirmation of current stock or delivery in Bulgaria. Official announcement

Already own a Humminbird?

Existing equipment will continue to receive support within its published model requirements. XPLORE, APEX and SOLIX G3 are among the families eligible for new system features through software updates. The brand transition itself does not mean you need to replace a working fish finder. Official source

XPLORE software version 7.400 was released on 6 October. Before updating, note that version 6.120 is required first, installation restores default settings, and settings from older software cannot be imported. Check the official instructions for connected accessory requirements too. Official source

What comes next?

Expansion planned from early 2027 includes A Series, the new Terrova QUEST and Riptide Terrova QUEST, Minn Kota Live Sonar and Minn Kota 360 Imaging. Official source

Bulgarian pricing, delivery dates and specific configurations need separate confirmation. If you are considering an upgrade, contact Genesis Fishing with your fish finder and trolling motor models. That is the starting point for choosing a suitable setup.

Ask about your chosen model

Before leaving the marina, we tend to think about the route, the weather and battery charge. Once under way, it helps to have the relevant readings together. That is the purpose of Victron’s GX Boat Page, a dedicated display for electric and hybrid boats.

On 22 September 2026, Victron released Venus OS 3.80, a software update for GX devices. It expands the information available on that page.

What does version 3.80 add?

GX Boat Page gains range estimates, temperature data, regeneration and shore power information. GX devices also receive inbound NMEA 2000 alarms.

Why might that matter on your boat?

The following are examples of how the information could be used, rather than a promise of the same result on every boat:

• Remaining range: when considering another leg of a trip, the estimate offers an extra reference alongside battery information. It is not a guarantee of the distance your boat will actually cover.
• Shore power: at the berth, you can review the available information about this source while checking the energy system before your next outing.
• Temperature and regeneration: temperature readings add context when monitoring the system; regeneration information is useful in a configuration that supplies those data.
• NMEA 2000 alarms: receiving inbound alarms allows information from the connected network to reach the GX device.

What should you check on your own installation?

GX Boat Page adapts to the available data. Victron’s description explains configurations using NMEA 2000 or a SmartShunt set up to meter the electric drive. The information displayed depends on the equipment and its connections.

Before updating, check your GX model, installed version and system settings. Victron’s manual describes updates via the internet or microSD/USB, followed by a check of installation settings. Plan the update as part of your boat’s maintenance.
