Honda BF10DK2SRU / BF10DK2LHU – 10 HP Four-Stroke Outboard Engines

The Honda BF10 is a compact and reliable 10 HP four-stroke outboard, well suited to small motorboats, inflatables, fishing boats and tenders. Both models share Honda's proven 222 cc twin-cylinder platform but offer different control and shaft configurations.

The BF10DK2SRU features a short shaft (S, approx. 433 mm), remote control and electric start. It is equipped with a 12A charging system and control box, making it an excellent choice for boats with a low transom and steering console.

The BF10DK2LHU features a long shaft (L, approx. 563 mm), tiller steering and recoil start. Its 6A charging system and straightforward tiller configuration make it a practical solution for boats with a higher transom where direct engine control is preferred.

Standard BF8/BF10 equipment includes an alloy propeller, external 12.5-litre fuel tank and Forward-Neutral-Reverse (F-N-R) gears.

With 10 HP of power, the BF10 is suitable for a wide range of small to medium inflatable, aluminium, fishing and utility boats. Always match the engine to the boat manufacturer's maximum horsepower rating and required transom/shaft length.

Honda BF10DK2LHSU – 10 HP, Long Shaft, Tiller Control, Electric Start & 12 A Alternator

The Honda BF10DK2LHSU is a compact and reliable 10 HP four-stroke outboard designed for small to medium-sized boats. Its 222 cc twin-cylinder engine provides smooth operation, low vibration and excellent everyday usability.

The LHSU version features a long shaft (L) and tiller steering, making it suitable for boats with a transom designed for a long-shaft outboard. The electric starter provides convenient starting, while a manual recoil starting system is also available.

A key advantage of this model is its 12 A charging alternator, designed to maintain the onboard battery and support electrical equipment such as fishfinders, GPS/navigation systems, lighting and compatible 12 V accessories.

The BF10DK2LHSU is well suited to fishing boats, inflatable boats, aluminium boats and small motorboats where a 10 HP engine and long-shaft configuration are specified by the boat manufacturer. Its tiller control also makes it an excellent choice for boats without a remote steering console.

Honda BF10DK2 SHU – 10 HP, Short Shaft, Tiller Control, 6 A Charging System

The Honda BF10DK2 SHU is a compact and reliable 4-stroke outboard motor delivering 10 HP, designed for small to medium-sized boats. Its 222 cc twin-cylinder engine provides smooth operation, low vibration and easy handling.

This version features a short shaft (S), tiller steering and manual recoil start, making it a practical choice for inflatable, aluminium, fishing and small motor boats with a compatible transom height. The integrated 6 A charging system can support battery charging and compatible onboard electrical equipment.

Standard equipment includes an aluminium 4-blade propeller and external fuel tank, together with the required fuel-system components. Compact dimensions and manual engine tilt make the BF10DK2 SHU well suited to fishing, recreational cruising and everyday use on inland and coastal waters.

Suitable for: small to medium-sized boats with a transom height and maximum rated engine power compatible with a 10 HP short-shaft outboard.

Honda BF2.3DH – 2.3 HP | Short or Long Shaft

The Honda BF2.3DH is a lightweight and compact 4-stroke 2.3 HP (1.7 kW) outboard engine, designed for small boats, inflatable boats, tenders and other lightweight craft. It is available in two versions to suit different transom heights:

• BF2.3DHSCHU – Short Shaft (S), 418 mm
• BF2.3DHLCHU – Long Shaft (L), for boats with a higher transom

Both models feature manual starting and tiller steering, with throttle control integrated into the handle. The centrifugal clutch and 360° engine rotation provide simple manoeuvring, including reverse movement by turning the engine around.

The compact 4-stroke OHV engine has a 57 cc displacement, air cooling and an integrated fuel tank. Its low weight makes the BF2.3DH particularly easy to transport, install and store.

Standard equipment includes: 3-blade propeller, emergency stop switch with safety lanyard, integrated fuel tank and tool kit.

Suitable for small inflatable and rigid boats, tenders, canoes and auxiliary craft, provided the boat's permitted engine power and transom height match the selected model. The correct shaft length should always be selected according to the boat's transom height.
